It's hard to describe the feeling of running in the early morning with the sunlight illuminating the fog and mist that has rolled in. It's just something you have to experience for yourself. I ran with my friend Anna who is also a runner and we were both so happy to be out there together. The day was cold but beautiful and we were able to run for about an hour before heading back into town for breakfast at Baskin Robbins.

I decided to stop running for a while and have a quick drink of water at the end of my run. But then I saw something that made me change my mind: a man walking his dog on the towpath ahead of me! He had a big, floppy dog which looked like it belonged in a circus - its head flopped over one side, its tail wagged back and forth behind it as if trying to keep up with the rest of its body. I wanted to pet it so badly but knew that if I did so it might give off some sort of signal that I wasn't welcome; instead I walked faster than usual until he disappeared around the corner ahead of me."
